22 August 2013 St Catherine’s talks technologyTeachers, ICT experts and software developers from prominent schools throughout NSW including Knox, Shore, Pittwater House, Meriden and Ascham came to an e-Learning Forum to discuss teaching breakthroughs at St Catherine’s Waverley. The discussions covered one-to-one teaching, an interactive and a student-led lesson on ‘flipping the classroom’. There was a live demonstration of a student joining the group using remote video technology and students using Microsoft Lync to message, video call, audio call and share their desktops and whiteboards with teachers.
7 June 2013 Combining latest technology with the wisdom of Socrates St Catherine’s use of information communications technology (ICT) leads the way in schools in Australia. Each student has a Samsung slate and Microsoft OneNote combined; teachers are now ‘flipping the classroom’ with extraordinary results. The new model gives students their core lessons before class, so they can concentrate on more challenging levels of learning and application in school time.
