Year 6 Write a Book in a Day

Our Year 6 girls participated in the Write a Book in a Day competition on Wednesday. This challenging and rewarding writing experience required students to work in teams to write and illustrate a book from start to finish, all in 12 hours! To make it even more fun, a set of unique words had to be included in each story. The completed books will be donated to children in hospitals across Australia. Books written for children, by children.

Through sponsorship, the Year 6 girls raised close to $6000 to donate to The Kids' Cancer Project, a national charity with a mission to support scientific research to help children with cancer.

Write a Book in a Day was a wonderful collaborative writing experience and for many students it was their first published book! Congratulations to all girls for their excellent teamwork and outstanding fundraising.
