Year 2 students with magnifying glasses look at the silk worms
22 March 2019

What's happening in 2G? We've been very busy!

‚ÄčHere are some things 2G have been up to this year.

In studio learning, we are learning about where food comes from. Some foods come directly from the farm and some come via factories. In class we made butter. We are also learning about silk worms. The silk worms in our classroom changed from eggs to larvae. They have changed a lot and are devouring the mulberry leaves.

We put soil into cups, added seeds and we now have grass heads.

In mathematics, we are learning about 'groups of'. We went on an egg hunt in the playground and filled egg cartons. We made 2D shape books on the iPads and shared our books with Kindergarten. We have 'secret friends' in 2G. We can guess who our secret friends are because they show kindness and respect. We wrote letters to our secret friends.

2G designed a cover of a cereal box to persuade the buyer to choose our box of cereal.
