Thoroughly Modern Millie

This year’s musical Thoroughly Modern Millie at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) was a resounding success!

The audience were thrilled to see the fantastic costumes, humorous characters, outstanding voices and perfectly choreographed dance routines that would give any Broadway star a run for their money.

The hard work and dedication of over 50 students from St Catherine’s, The Scots College, Cranbrook, Sydney Grammar and Waverley College shone through at the weekend’s three shows.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited show set in the 1920’s, full of jazz, tap and 20’s fashion. It tells the story of Millie Dillmount who moved to New York in search of a new and exciting life for herself. The musical is a stage adaption of the 1967 film of the same name and it opened on Broadway in 2002. It went on to win six Tony awards, including best musical.

Congratulations to all who took part and worked so hard to make it a success.
