Our robotics team (and their robot) are raring to go!

We've had an exciting and challenging time over the past two months building our robot for the FIRST® Robotics Challenge (FRC).

Seventeen of our girls formed the St Cathodes team and have worked with great commitment over January and February to build a full-scale robot. The girls were faced with a multitude of difficult challenges, but the progress has been remarkable and we are looking forward to unveiling the final product!

Following competition rules, the build had to cease at the end of the day on Tuesday 21 February. The challenge will take place at Sydney Olympic park over 17 and 18 March 2017, with a full-scale practice, inspection and networking day on Thursday 16 February.

Entry to and participation in the FRC Challenge would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Both the Open Colleges Group and the St Catherine's Parents' and Friends Association have provided generous financial support and we also thank the University of NSW Engineering students and their Lead Mentor, Professor Chris Lu for mentoring the girls so brilliantly. Thanks also to Lee Braithwaite who has been an extremely helpful technical mentor for the girls.
