Making music with St Marys North

This Tuesday saw the culmination of the year's collaboration with St Marys North public school and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

The day was a music curriculum-based day to consolidate performance work which was begun in June with our school's visit to St Marys North. Throughout the year, students from both schools have been looking at music and art. They have been composing using graphic notation, and on Tuesday, the St Marys' students workshopped their compositions and played them on real instruments for the first time. This was a special moment for them because they also shared the inspiration for their writing and explained their compositions. St Cath's and St Marys students mingled well and had a wonderful musical day.
