Sunshine and smiles at our annual Jane Barker Luncheon

The Autumn sun was shining as we welcomed 35 of our Old Girls who had graduated 50 years ago or more back to St Catherine's for the annual Jane Barker Luncheon. Year groups from 1942 through to 1967 were represented, and there was a general feeling of amazement at how quickly the years have gone by. As one Old Girl said, "I just can't believe it has been 71 years since I finished school!"

A highlight of the Jane Barker Luncheon every year is the involvement of our Year 4 students who took great pride in setting the tables in the Magnolia Room. The girls were excited to greet our special guests and enjoyed some very interesting chats comparing life at St Cath's then and now. One guest later kindly remarked, "Weren't they absolutely delightful young girls - so poised but at the same time so natural."

There was no shortage of conversation over lunch as our guests caught up on life since school and shared memories of teachers and classmates from their school years across the decades.
