We celebrated in style this week, commemorating St Catherine’s 163rd birthday. Foundation Day, held on Tuesday 5 March, is an important milestone for our school – the first Anglican independent girls' school established in Australia.
With a rich history of supporting girls to be confident, curious and resilient, our guest speaker Monique Keighery (OG1992) now CEO of the not-for-profit cancer charity Redkite, spoke passionately and genuinely to our girls. She talked about working hard, backing yourself even when you feel scared and doing things you feel passionate about. She shared wonderful stories from her days at St Cath’s and recounted how she was part of the group of girls who were consulted about the new uniform design, the one we all enjoy today!
Following the assembly and speeches we sang Happy Birthday and ceremoniously blew out the golden candle with Dr Townsend, Mrs Worsely, Isabella Plaisted our head girl, Margot Ruffa from Year 6 and Jolyn Khoo from Kindergarten.
