The St Catherine's rowing team had a very successful IGSSA Regatta over the weekend.
Our rowing girls trained very well over the school holidays and are now benefiting from their hard work. The team came home with two gold, two silver and one bronze medal. The medals were spread across the whole squad which shows the rowing talent we have in each year group.
Our Year 8 girls took a gold and a silver medal with Amelia Cooper taking gold in the Year 8 single and Nicole Chong, Chloe Munro, Amelia Cooper, Imogen Spence and Lilli O'Driscoll taking silver in the Year 8 quad.
Our Year 9 double of Katarina Saravanos and Bianca Horrell put in a great performance to take gold. This was quickly followed by Tamzin Heywood and Arabella Hammond racing hard to take out bronze medals in the Year 10 double.
Our seniors won a silver in the four with Sophie Breznik, Matilda Hunt, Catherine Johnson, Matilda Borthwick and Imogen Heywood in a hard fought battle.
The rowing team is now turning its focus to Head of the River on Saturday 25 March. The girls and coaches have five weeks to fine tune their technique to try and build on our recent success in the run into Head of the River.
Thank you to all the parents, led so well by Mr John Richardson and the dedication and talent of the girls who keep St Cath's rowing on an upward trajectory.
