Careers Beyond St Cath's

What an exciting event as we hosted the inaugural Careers Beyond St Cath's evening in May. It has been a resounding success with just over 200 guests in attendance made up of Years 10, 11 and 12 students and their parents. Our aim is to give our girls valuable insight into potential careers and offer some options they may not have yet considered.

Our Alumni Relations Coordinator, Meagan Sharpe (McLachlan) OG2003, invited 19 Old Girls to be our guest speakers for the evening across six different industry panels. We began with a welcome from Dr Katrina Barker OG1994 who is a senior lecturer in education psychology at the University of Western Sydney. Katrina spoke to the girls about following their passion, and the importance of persistence and resilience to lead a balanced and successful career. Guests were then invited to attend three industry panel sessions to hear about the speakers' personal journeys and experiences.

We are so grateful for the support of our strong alumni network and the personal reflections and professional guidance they shared. Our guests were energised and motivated by the real-life experiences shared and were inspired by such confident role models.

Thank you to Dr Julie Townsend and the staff of St Catherine's for their support of this event. We look forward to hosting this and similar careers events in the future for our girls.
