Be authentic, curious, brave and kind - a message to our Year 11 girls

Our Year 11 students were taken on a journey into the world of engineering with a visit from one of our Old Girls, Sarah Loh from the Class of 2006.

Sarah was a Fielding Scholarship recipient during her time at St Catherine's, who went on to study for a degree in petroleum engineering in 2010 at UNSW. Having completed her degree on the Dean's Honour List for high achievement, Sarah joined Woodside Energy in Perth, Western Australia as their Corporate Reserves Coordinator.

Sarah is passionate about engineering, a field she has found most rewarding when at its most challenging. Sarah is committed to encouraging the next generation of young women to pursue a career within its various fields. With the support of Woodside Energy, Sarah was able to come back to St Cath's to share her journey with our girls and her vision about being 'authentic, curious, brave and kind'. By doing so, she says, you can achieve whatever you set out to achieve. Sarah hopes that our Year 11 students will be encouraged to open their hearts and minds to explore the world around them and be excited for the formative years to come.

We hope Sarah will be able to return to St Catherine's in the near future to further inspire our girls and to encourage them to explore the world of STEM and all it has to offer.
