St Catherine’s School, Waverley overlooks Sydney’s eastern suburbs and is close to magnificent Centennial Park and the University of New South Wales. Some of Australia’s most famous beaches including Bondi and Bronte are a short walk or bus ride away.

The local village shopping centre at Charing Cross is a five minute walk from the School and a large Westfield shopping centre at Bondi Junction is a ten minute bus ride away.

St Catherine's is a 7km journey by bus or train to the heart of Sydney city and our famous icons including the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the historic area of The Rocks.

Sydney has plenty of theatres and cinemas as well as museums and art galleries to visit. The Art Gallery of NSW is next to the Royal Botanic Gardens, famous for its Moreton Bay Figs and striking harbour views.

Darling Harbour is close to the CBD. It has an aquarium, Imax cinema, a maritime museum, shopping, restaurants and regular, spectacular fireworks.

At Circular Quay you can catch a ferry to Manly, Mosman, Parramatta, Watsons Bay, Balmain and Taronga Zoo. 

Sydney’s historic cathedrals

St Andrew’s Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in Australia, consecrated in 1868. It is in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and its magnificent Gothic Revival architecture encloses a richly decorated pipe organ and impressive choir services throughout the week.

As well as the cathedral, Sydney has many beautiful churches for people of all different faiths and denominations.
