About St Catherine’s

Welcome to our community. St Catherine's girls are typically strong in faith, respectful of others and committed to lifelong learning.

The oldest independent Anglican girls' school in Australia

St Catherine's School was founded in 1856 by Mrs Jane Barker.  She chose our wonderful hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean so our girls could "crown the hill and command the pre-eminence." And today they do that as much as ever as they become citizens who will shape society as critical and reflective thinkers and leaders.

We are an innovative school and Australian leaders in positive psychology and ICT in education. Our girls use the latest tablet computers to enhance their learning across a broad curriculum.

The School offers many opportunities in sport, music and the arts and our staff carefully guide and support your daughter through her studies and encourage her to find an interest she will pursue with passion.

Outstanding facilities

Cutting edge technology

We use the latest technology and educational research to provide St Catherine's girls with a grounded foundation to their life journey that will be rich with complex challenges and opportunities.

Award winning BUILDINGS

Our facilities and grounds are continually upgraded. The most recent is our Junior School building designed to encourage exploration and discovery. Opened in 2011 it was awarded for its sustainability features and innovative design. Our  ambitious Research, Performance and Aquatic Centre (RPAC) has now reached the approval stage.
